What DJs actually play
Crate graph
3,035 DJs, grouped into 21 clusters by the records they have in common. Zoom in to go from clusters to the artists inside them.
Only DJs with 5 or more documented sets appear, which is 3,035 of 21,608 artists, or 14.0%. That threshold favours artists with radio shows, whose sets get archived week by week, over club DJs whose nights nobody writes up. Two DJs are joined when they play the same records, with rare records counting for more than hits. The grouping is the Louvain method (Blondel et al., 2008), which finds artists whose links are denser than their popularity alone explains. Circle size is documented sets.
